08th Ms. Team’ Gets The Robot Damashii Toy Treatment In November

What’s with all the great Damashii Robot toy releases of 08th SP team at the moment we now also have the iconic Ez8 looking forward to November.

The View ANIME subline for Damashi Robot has been around for a while now and is all about recreating classic mecha designs as true to their respective original anime as possible.

08th SP team got that treatment with the release of the excellent Gundam on the grounda fan favorite and a classic in terms of interpreting the Gundam aesthetic in a more military way.

Ez8 was an evolution of that sensibility and was written by Kimitoshi Yamane, who is someone who goes to great lengths to make his creations believable.

In the story, the Ez8 was an extensive Ground Gundam field repair after Shiro fought the Apsala II. The result was a streamlined, more heavily armored mobile suit that looked more militaristic.

As a result, anime fans outside of Japan have turned to the Ez8 in surprisingly large numbers, which is part of why we got a Figure from the Gundam universe before a Robot Damashii.

Released in November for 6,600 yen (about $51), this Robot Damashii Ez8 comes with a nice range of accessories and gadgets, as well as some decent effect parts.

Although the big thing here is the extensive and deep articulation that allows for some great anime-accurate poses (shown above).

My only hope with all these new Damashii Robot toys from 08th SP team is that Bandai Spirits will move to the blue destiny designs at any given time, as they share many of the same design motifs.

In the meantime, if you haven’t seen the 08th SP team you can then correct this oversight by recovering the series on Blu-ray.
