Afghan fiasco reveals our society of lies | Opinion

I wrote about the moral, diplomatic, international and American tragedy of the abandonment of Afghanistan a few months ago, so I will only deal here with Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s comment on “This Week” by ABC – and what it says about our country.

Commenting on the US helicopters picking up Americans from the roof of the US Embassy in Kabul, Blinken said: “This is clearly not Saigon.”

This statement summarizes the state of the United States of America. We have become a society of lies. As I know since studying the Soviet Union and Communism at the Russian Institute at Columbia University, the truth has never been a left value. There are honest and dishonest Liberals; there are honest and dishonest Conservatives. But the truth is both a liberal and a conservative value. It is not a left value. People on the left are committed to saying anything that advances their agenda, true or false.

I debated whether leftists believed the lies they spoke for much of my life. And I concluded that they usually do – partly because they just don’t ask the question: is what I’m saying right or wrong?

The point is, Kabul 2021 is Saigon 1975 – and anyone with eyes to see knows that. However, the Secretary of State of the United States, representing an administration and a leftist party which therefore undertakes to say whatever is deemed beneficial to its interests, whether it is true or not, shamelessly announces that Kabul ” is clearly not Saigon ”.

Does Blinken believe what he said? May be. Did he wonder if this was a true statement before he made it? Not likely.

You can now see how this statement on Kabul relates to “men give birth”.

Do the people who say that believe it? Probably. Yet no rational person in search of the truth can come up with a more obvious lie.

Do the people who deny that the 70 percent black out-of-wedlock birth rate is a major contributor to the disproportionate black male crime rate know they are lying? Probably not. Their “anti-racist” program forced them to believe it.

Did all the mayors and left-wing commentators who demanded that police services be funded believe it would reduce violent crime? The idea is so blatantly absurd that it’s hard to believe they believed it. But then again, most of these mayors and commentators probably think men give birth.

As the Wall Street Journal reported on May 12, 2020, of Rep. Adam Schiff, a man who lies often and with breathtaking ease, “Recently released documents show that he (Schiff) knew since early on that there was no evidence of Russia-Trump collusion. . “

In this regard, did the New York Times and all the other mainstream media believe their two-year lie that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia? Again, it is doubtful that they questioned if what they wrote and broadcast was true. The only question the left is asking is whether what they say is effective in advancing their goals.

Virtually the entire educational institution – from elementary school to senior school – is a world of lies. Indeed, education in America has nothing to do with education because Americans and the rest of the West have always understood the term. The concept of objective truth – the basis of education – is now denounced as white supremacy. According to the Oregon Department of Education, even understanding that math has the correct answers is a function of white supremacy. And, of course, the assessment that Shakespeare wrote the finest plays or Beethoven the greatest symphonies is also dismissed as a form of white supremacy.

Hardly any major institution in the United States is committed to the truth. The American Medical Association just announced that birth certificates should no longer mention “sex” because we do not know the sex of a baby. We know the sex of all mammals on the planet, but not that of humans. And medical schools – yes, medical schools – must no longer refer to those who give birth as women, but as “people who give birth”; “Breastfeeding” is called “breastfeeding”.

Slate, to his credit, published an article titled “The Noble Lies of COVID-19,” citing four lies told by Dr.Anthony Fauci, whose commitment to the truth is just a cut above that by Adam Schiff. One of the four Fauci lies cited is that cloth masks work. Yet, as the article noted, a Freedom of Information Act email revealed that Fauci’s initial position in March 2020 that masks were unnecessary remained his position even when he subsequently advocated may the country be masked.

The tech giants have no commitment to the truth. They label all the positions with which they differ as “disinformation” and remove them even when those positions are taken by world-renowned scientists and other experts. No one is more responsible for our Lies Society than Google, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

The President of the United States says whatever works for him and his leftist party. A rarely noted example is his decision to turn Pulse nightclub, an LGBT gathering place in Orlando, Florida, and the scene of a mass murder of 49 people in 2016 into a national memorial.

“Five years ago today in Orlando in the middle of Pride Month,” Biden announced, “our nation suffered the deadliest attack affecting the LGBTQ + community in American history, and to the era, the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter. “

The problem is, the mass murder had nothing to do with Pulse being an LGBTQ club. The murder was committed by a radical Muslim, Omar Mateen, looking for a crowded place to kill large numbers of Americans. As prosecutors noted during Mateen’s trial, Mateen had wanted to avenge the US airstrikes against ISIS in Syria.

That’s why Blinken’s lie is like water on a duck’s back. The left has made the truth a non-problem in America.

He made us a society of lies.
