All In On F: 2021 SEMA Show

To celebrate the Lexus F and high performance, Lexus brought in two racing icons, Townsend Bell and Scott pruett, who consulted with elite modification partners to make their vision for high-performance IS sedans an inspiring reality.

Lexus IS 500 – Lexus has teamed up with Hiraku Co. and Lexus Ambassador Townsend Bell to develop a particularly eye-catching street performance-themed IS 500 version.

Lexus IS 350 – Lexus in partnership with DSPORT Magazine and Lexus Ambassador, Scott pruett, to develop the ultimate track performance inspired by the IS 350.

The exciting F-inspired constructions will be on display at the Lexus booth in central hall # 21803.

In addition to the SEMA show and project cars, Lexus is announcing an evolution of the F and F SPORT strategy, which began in 2008 with the legendary IS-F. Starting with the Performance 2022 IS 500 F SPORT, the current Lexus performance line will extend from F SPORT and F to four distinct levels: F SPORT Design, F SPORT Handling, F SPORT Performance and F. Each level will include models with a unique range of performance enhancements.

  • F SPORT design: For those who appreciate bold and unmistakable styling, these vehicles can feature a sport-inspired exterior design, including unique front and rear bumpers, grille and wheels.
  • F SPORT Handling will build on the design with sport-tuned suspension components refined on the track, including adaptive variable suspension. Customers can expect inspiring turns and responsiveness from the all-new 2022 NX and LX.
  • F SPORT Performance: In addition to the updated suspension components, these models can receive a higher performance powertrain, as seen in the 2022 IS 500.
  • F: As the highest expression of Lexus performance, the F models will be further enhanced with innovative components developed for the track, including improved brakes, advanced aerodynamics and lightweight materials.

In the future, future Lexus models will adopt this new performance strategy. More details will be announced soon.

The 2022 Lexus IS 500 represents the pinnacle of F SPORT performance for the Lexus sport sedan. From the factory, the model marries a purebred 472-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 with the carefully executed sedan details people expect from Lexus. For SEMA 2021, Lexus has partnered with Hiraku Co. and Lexus Ambassador Townsend Bell to develop a unique street performance-themed IS 500 build.

The athletic lines of the IS 500 provide the perfect canvas for an exterior treatment that adds presence in the form of a unique 3D printed body kit. Designed by Hiraku Co., the kit includes front lip spoiler, side steps, rear diffuser, front fenders, bumper canards, rear roof spoiler and rear bumper trim, complemented by a hood and trunk in Seibon carbon fiber. The body is then covered in a subtly retina-piercing vinyl body wrap that offers a modern interpretation of traditional Lexus spindle-style elements.

This IS 500’s street performance envelope is widened with some tasteful tweaks to improve the V8’s breathing. On the induction side, there is a custom A’PEXi induction box with a TOMS Racing carbon fiber suction pipe. The used fumes come out through an A’PEXi N1 Evolution Extreme Quad Ti-tip exhaust system which puts the melody of the 2UR-GSE V8 on the spot.

Improved and more sudden throttle control is also part of the mix with the addition of a throttle control controlled by the Shiftpower 4.0 app by Defeat Soni.

The sports sedan’s chassis has been reinforced for better reflexes using TOMS chassis reinforcements on the front and rear suspensions. A 32-way adjustable A’PEXi N1 EXV coilover system helps keep the car planted. Rotiform LAS-R wheels with unique aero disc covers add a touch of retro-modern style. These extra-wide 20-inch wheels are wrapped in Nitto Invo rubber with a Brembo GT brake system with custom painted calipers to help provide the stopping power needed.

The 2021 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT sits just below the IS 500 on the brand’s F SPORT performance scale. From the factory, this level of performance sedan from Lexus offers improved handling thanks to its Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) system and an available limited-slip differential. Recognizing the potential of this newly refreshed IS platform, Lexus has teamed up with DSPORT Magazine with the legendary road racer, Scott pruett, to collaborate on a first longer-term mission phase to transform this IS 350 into a tracked weapon unlike any previous IS.

For SEMA 2021, reflecting the supply chain challenges facing major construction components such as the powertrain, this IS 350 is billed as ‘reverse build’ with an emphasis on the exterior, suspension and some interior modifications. For SEMA 2022, the project will be fully developed with more than double its current level of power and track speed improvements shared in the DSPORT editorial. Currently, that project remains powered by a spirited, naturally aspirated 311-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 that imbues the sedan with spirited performance.

With a strong enough pop of color, the exterior treatment pays homage to the Lexus brand ambassador and Motorsport Hall of Fame, Scott pruett. A unique design was developed for the casing by Troy Lee Design using cues and colors from Pruett’s helmet art. Troy lee and Scott pruett share a long history over decades of Scott racing. This vinyl has been expertly applied by Boss Wraps of Valley of the fountain in approx. on a body kit from from Japan Craft spirits.

SEMA Brands 2021 the first hand-fitted body kit from Artisan Spirits which adds the attitude and the width necessary to accommodate the rubber necessary for this IS to fulfill its future mission on the track. The kit stands out for its superior fit and finish.

In line with this IS 350’s future track mission, Design Craft manufacturing installed a four-point roll bar with a SPARCO five-point harness that keeps the driver secure in the SPARCO QRT-K Carbon / Kevlar racing seats. . For suspension, custom KW Variant 3 coilovers help keep the vehicle controlled and planted while providing a range of height adjustment. The carbon-ceramic brake system from the Lexus RCF Track edition has been grafted onto this IS.

The car is equipped with two different axles for the track and the street. The super light track-focused suit is the 19-inch ADVAN Racing Beyond GT forged wheels in Hyper Black Machine finish. Display wheels are 20 “Rotiform KPS models in matte copper. All wheels are coated with Michelin Pilot Sport Rubber 4s.
