Legend deviates and integrates dragonball lore in a myriad of satisfying ways. After a brief introduction to King Vegeta and his planet Sayian, the film picks up with Goku (Jordan Woolen, who also voices Vegeta) and Chi-Chi (Elsie Lovelock) at the World Martial Arts Tournament, which is similar to their fight at the End of dragonball. Then the original Broly (Jason Alexander Sukhram) shows up to destroy Goku. Luckily, Vegeta arrives and becomes Super Sayian before Goku is given a brand new form reminiscent of Monkey King/Sun Wukong/Son Goku, the main character of the classic Chinese novel. Travel west, on which dragonball‘s Goku is based.
Legend miraculously combines the beloved elements of Dragon Ball Z in less than 11 minutes, from a 9,000 benchmark and kinetic action to familiar instrumentals and a reverence for its characters. On top of that, he breaks with Super herothe divisive animation with a style that harks back to the classics while feeling fresh. A message at the beginning of the film says: “To every child who believed they could train in 100 times Earth’s gravity, and to every artist who recorded Dragon Ball Z and paused it to draw their favorite heroes, this is dedicated to you.” While many content creators and websites continue to share Legendit seems inevitable that the love letter’s popularity will catch Toriyama’s eye and make it easier to create a sequel.
