On Thursday, September 30, the Houston Symphony returned to the main stage of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for an evening featuring a variety of Queen classics including “We Will Rock You”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody to Love” .
The musical tribute was sponsored by Huntsman and provided free seating for guests on the mezzanine. Bridging the gap between rock n ‘roll and classical music, conductor / arranger Brent Havens stepped onto the podium to present Windborne’s ultimate rock show, The Queen’s Music, a program he composed to extend the experience of listening to Queen’s exceptional tunes. Performed by an orchestra and amplified with a full rock band and vocals, Havens and her ensemble capture the distinct sound of Queen while showcasing familiar musical colors and plenty of new.
