How to Sign Up for MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero Private Beta

MiHoYo is streaming some of those Genshin Impact billions, and just revealed its next game, Zenless Zone Zero, which has an upcoming private beta you can sign up for today.

Zenless Zone Zero also has a new trailer that previews the aesthetics and fighting style of the game’s neo-future anime. It’s a…really good trailer! Check it out below:

Early rumors of it being some kind of FPS didn’t materialize, and once again we seem to have third-person combat, although some characters shoot guns. It also appears to be hero-based, and where there are heroes, there’s almost certainly some sort of gacha mechanic to come. This makes do not seem to be fully open world, as the game is about going through dungeon-like levels, and I think games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta were inspired to some extent.

There’s an upcoming private beta for the game that doesn’t have a date yet, but you can sign up for it now. How? Follow these steps:

  • Go to the official site of the game here.
  • In addition to the main art, there is a small “register” button that you need to click on, I absolutely missed this the first time I tried to register on the website.

  • From there, you log in with your miHoYo username and password which you either have to create from scratch or it’s the one you use for Genshin Impact.
  • Then you’ll be asked to answer a very, very long “Tuning Test” on your PC or mobile gaming hardware, because the test will take place there, not on console, apparently. You will also receive many questions about your gaming habits, the games you have played and how long you have been playing them. They even ask you about your anime and manga knowledge.

I don’t know if there are any “right” answers here needed, but you will definitely need hardware on a certain spec for the private beta to work. You don’t know if your playing time and the games you choose will factor into the decision to give you access or not. The FAQ page also states that there will be community events you can attend for a chance to join the test later. Again, we don’t have a start date for the test yet, and we could be talking weeks or months, we just don’t know. But I guess sooner rather than later.

I’m definitely interested in trying it out, given how much I love Genshin Impact. But most of reason I love Genshin Impact is its vast world an exploration, and if Zenless Zone Zero doesn’t have that, I don’t know what I’ll think of it. More info to come soon.
