Fans of shonen manga and anime have plenty of shows they love, shows we talked about sometimes on this site — and among the upper level of these is Hunter X Hunter. Yoshihiro Togashi’s martial arts manga has been a commercial and critical success since its debut in 1998, but due to Togashi’s health issues, it had its longest hiatus in 2018 after the release of its last issue. After four years of waiting, it looks like the series is about to make a[nother] to come back.

On Twitter, an account claiming to be Togashi tweeted a photo from the corner of a manga page, along with the caption: “4 more episodes at the moment”. This is the account’s only tweet, although according to One-punch man artist Yusuke Murata is Twitter for the real Togashi. For fans of Hunter X Hunter, this is seen as a sweet confirmation that the beloved series will be making a comeback in the near future.

If you haven’t read or watched Hunter X Hunter, the series takes place in a world where licensed hunters go on missions to hunt monsters, fight criminals or find treasure. Its main protagonist, Gon Freecss, becomes a hunter in order to find his missing father, himself one of the best hunters in the world. Like any shonen protagonist, he makes friends during his travels: Killua, heir to a family of assassins; a medical student named Leorio; and Kurapika, the sole survivor of his murdered clan. The series has been adapted into an anime twice; the more recent of the two being released in 2011 on Crunchyroll and covers the majority of the manga.

When the manga lastsleft, he had just concluded Gon’s story in the “Chimera Ant” arc and pivoted towards Kurapika. Determined to recover the stolen eyes of his slain clansmen, Kurapika signs up to guard the body of a little princess, with Leorio accompanying him on the ride as a doctor on the ship.

io9 contacted Viz Media, the American publisher of Hunter X Hunter, for confirmation upon return. We will update when we hear After.
