This is part of a year-long “Love for the Local” series called NB365: Portraits of New Brunswick Entrepreneurs, Businesses and Organizations. Huddle is a Love for Local media partner. Today we hear from John Barker of St. Croix Army Surplus & Musical Instruments in St. Stephen.
I have loved army surpluses and music stores all my life and decided to do what I love by opening a business that meets both of my passions.
Supporting the locals keeps money in the community. It’s circular. The support we receive allows us to support others in the community in return. This is a good thing.
Recently St Croix Army Surplus welcomed The Easycoast FlipFlop Company and we look forward to this expansion as it will bring new services and products such as custom t-shirts to our product line. The support we have received has enabled us to do this, and we are excited to see what the future holds.
Supporting local businesses has a real impact because community is everything and we are all local somewhere. Supporting each other ensures that the place we call home thrives and shines.
