NCT 127 ‘Sticker’: Tracklist, MV teaser and everything on the 2 million pre-ordered albums

NCity was in chaos when it was revealed that NCT 127’s “Sticker” had a million pre-orders just 24 hours after it was announced. The band were already a million sellers with their previous album ‘Neo Zone’ but it had taken days after release to reach that milestone. But ‘Sticker’ became the highest and fastest pre-ordered album from day one. In order not to be lax, NCTzens decided to take it a step further and get another achievement from the boy group before the release. On September 16, a day before the release of “Sticker,” it was revealed that it had received 2.12 million total pre-orders.

This makes it the highest pre-ordered album and the first of SM Entertainment’s two million. Not only that, it added a feather in the hat of three NCT members. Haechan and Mark became the only and youngest SM artists to have three million-selling double albums with NCT 2020’s “Resonance”, NCT Dream’s “Hot Sauce” and “Sticker”. In addition, they are six million sellers as they are part of NCT Dream of which “Hot Sauce” and “Hello Future” combined have sold over three million copies. We also have Yuta who became the only Japanese idol to sell five million dollars with “Neo Zone”, “NCT Resonance” and “Sticker”.

Mark and Taeyong wrote their verses for ‘Sticker’. From the song titles, it looks like they’re playing on the fantastic elements of the college concept they first introduced for ‘Sticker’. The boys also released mini-videos for some of the tracks and they were quite dynamic as they experimented with several genres, from ballads to noise music.

‘Sticker’ tries to send a positive message to be with loved ones and to make our own story. ‘Lemonade’ is a dance song with hip hop elements and 808 sounds and is about being confident. “Bring The Noize” experiments with trap and hip-hop and uses electro synths and heavy bass sounds. ‘Road Trip’ is a fun pop song while ‘Dreamer’ has a retro arrangement full of energetic brass sounds with positive lyrics to forget your worries and dream together.

“Focus” would be a relaxed R&B song with guitar riffs and a catchy bassline. ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ combines R&B and pop ballad while ‘Breakfast’ is a future upbeat house track with major synths. ‘Far’ on the other hand is an intense dance-pop song. ‘The Rainy Night’ is a calm and mellow pop ballad while the album ends with ‘Promise You’ which is a pop song with energetic synths and beats.
