Power Book III: Raising Kanan tells the adolescence of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis). Kanan is raised by his drug queen mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller). Raq runs his drug business from Raq and his uncles, Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays).
Although Raq is all about her money in her son, in Season 1 we saw her form a relationship with a man named Symphony Bosket (Toby Sandeman). Although we admired their romance, Symphony and Raq might not get back together.
Symphony’s Backstory Could Be Revealed In ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 2
Despite her best intentions to stay focused on Kanan and her business, Symphony found her way into Raq’s heart. We don’t know much about the character other than he adores Raq; he earned his master’s degree and supported himself by teaching and serving as a bartender.
However, Season 2 should tell fans who Symphony is in addition to what we’ve seen so far.

Symphony and Raq might not get back together
As Symphony completes her studies and focuses on city planning, Raq has only become more power-hungry. With Lou Lou focused on her music, she’s one step away from her drug business.
With their lives going in completely different directions, we think there’s no hope Symphony and Raq will ever get back together. “With Symphony, she’s able to dream about that other life, the white picket fence, and she kind of becomes vulnerable and has these ideas about being in a relationship with someone like him,” Miller told PopSugar on his character. “What’s exciting for her at first is that he’s a distraction from her chaotic world, and because of who he is, he’s able to go deeper, and she feels too much with him.”
Now that Raq’s feelings are in, Symphony is too much of a liability for her. “She doesn’t see a world where the two could be together without something happening, which is why she’s trying to push Kanan out of the business,” Miller explained. “She knows it’s too difficult. It’s not as simple as saying, ‘I’m going out,’ which she preaches to Lou Lou.”
Fans Are Convinced Symphony Is Law Enforcement In ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’
It looks like Raq and Symphony are moving in two different directions, especially after Symphony tried to reason with Raq about Kanan in the Season 2 opener. While many fans love Symphony, others are wary of him from the start.
“This man is 100% an undercover cop, federal agent or informant. It gave her too sharp a picture,” a Redditor suggested via Express. “I also have the cop’s haircut; something is wrong with Symphony. Another added: “Yeah he kinda makes me feel like he could be something other than a bartending graduate student; what it is, I’m still on the fence.
We don’t think Symphony is the feds, but we do think it has a lot more to it than what we’ve already seen.
