Raue Center School For The Arts Announces Fall 2022 Semester Classes


Raue Center School For The Arts creates a welcoming place where students of all ages can let their creativity run wild. Now offering classes for students of all ages, from 18 months to 18 years old. Adults too!

Raue Center School For The Arts (RCSA) announces Broadway Baby from September 5 to December 12, 2022 (excluding Thanksgiving week) Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Broadway Baby is a fun discovery class for your little mover (ages 18-36 months) to explore music, storytelling and movement. Register for the full 14 weeks ($210) or go by class ($15/class).

Tiny Tunes (ages 3 and 4) is a new 45 minute lesson full of song, rhyme, rhythm, coordination, imagination and FUN. Bring your dance and music loving child for their first taste of theatre. Each class will have time for music, dancing and storytelling. The course runs from September 5 to December 12, 2022 (excluding Thanksgiving week), Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Register for the full 14 weeks ($210) or go by class ($15/class).

The smallest stars shine in Little Stage Stars (ages 5-7). This six-week course is full of fun plays, creative moves and skill-building theater games to help students explore their own creativity and talents. This course ends with an open classroom where parents and families can observe the students playing, and even get a “mini-showcase”! The course runs from September 13 to October 18, Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Tuition is $150 per student (RaueNOWFamily price: $112.50).

Our popular introductory comedy series, Ready, Set, Act! (ages 7-12), uses theater games and creative play techniques to bring students out of their shells and teach them the basics of theatre. In lessons tailored to the unique needs of each age group, our team of working theater professionals provide individualized attention and encouragement as students hone their skills and learn tips and tricks from the best. Each class section lasts six weeks and ends with a showcase on the Raue Center stage! Tuition is $200 per student (RaueNOWFamily price: $150).

In addition to introductory courses, RCSA is proud to also offer several pre-professional courses. Acting II: Scene Study (Ages 13+) is a new class for actors who are ready to advance their skills and build stronger connections with script and character. Using Uta Hagen’s techniques, students will deepen the relationships between characters and learn to use their impulses to create dynamic scenes. The lesson ends with a showcase on the Raue Center stage on the last day of lesson! The course runs from September 12 to October 20, Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuition is $250 per student (RaueNOW family price: $187.50).

Raue Center For The Arts is thrilled to offer a new comprehensive class called Musical Theater T³: Triple Threat for Teens with Instructor Robin Irwin! Musical theater combines song, acting, and dance to create a uniquely American form of stage magic. T³ Musical Theater will consist of 3 lessons per week: an acting lesson, a song interpretation lesson and a fully staged/choreographed number. The course will end with a presentation of the student’s work. These sessions provide individual training for each student in a variety of musical theater styles and performance techniques, all presented in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Classes take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., from September 12 to 26. Tuition is $375 per student (RaueNOW family price: $281.25).

The Youth Musical Theater Ensemble is back by popular demand! YMTE focuses on vocal technique that extends beyond solo singing to ensemble singing in small and large groups. The band will be working on several songs that will feature all of the members in one way or another, with a final performance at the end of the session. Students in this class will also join Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery, Tim Davis and the Tony Guerrero Quintet in “A Swingin’ Christmas” for special performances on the Raue Center stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 and 1 p.m. on Sunday. December 10. 11th! YMTE rehearses from October 10 to December 6, Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuition is $350 per student (RaueNOW family price: $262.50).

RCSA is proud to present Song and Story: A crash course in adult musical theater for our adults! This fun course will allow adult students to discover the joys of storytelling through song. We believe that growing in the arts and growing as a human being are synonymous and this intensive allows adult students to explore that magical moment when a scene becomes a song. The class will end with a cabaret-style showcase where you can strut your stuff. Why should kids have fun? Classes take place on Mondays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., from September 12 to 26. Tuition is $100 per student (RaueNOW family price: $75).
