The Modesto Symphony Orchestra plays Star Wars in concert

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra (MSO), conducted by Associate Conductor Ryan Murray, will perform Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert on Friday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. Fans will be able to experience the full film’s scope and grandeur with Oscar-winning composer John Williams’ musical score performed live on film by the OSM.

“We are thrilled to end our season with Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert,” said Caroline Nickel, President and CEO of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. “The Star Wars franchise is loved by so many and we are thrilled to be able to present A New Hope in its entirety with our full orchestra performing John Williams’ score live. It has to be one of the most iconic film scores ever. ever written and we guarantee you will get goosebumps when you see the opening tracks with all the force of a live orchestra performing.

Since the release of the first Star Wars movie, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on film and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its legendary storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects and iconic musical scores composed by Williams. This concert is perfect for all ages as the OSM celebrates the 45th anniversary of the film that launched the Star Wars saga.

The concert and film will be presented at the Gallo Center for the Arts, Mary Stuart Rogers Theatre, 1000 I St., Modesto.

Pricing for this special event includes tickets at $19, $39, $54, $71, and $94.

All ticket holders must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the performance. Masks are recommended for everyone. Home tests are not accepted.
